A Military veteran of 10 years, serving in various active operational environments, conducting investigative, intelligence and engagement activities. A career of over two decades in the UK Police Service followed, where I was able to gain a wealth of experience in varied covert roles, including surveillance, informant handling and later specialising in Hostage & Crisis negotiations. I have extensive experience and my previous prior role was the lead negotiator for a specialist team.
Now a Director of a successful Negotiation and enhanced communications training company, I continue to consult and instruct for the UK Police on National Negotiation courses and Kidnap & Extortion courses, where I am able to successfully enhance the skills of both new and experienced Negotiators.
A former member of the National Negotiator Training Sub-Group, I was actively involved in the development and enhancement of negotiation methods and tactics for UK Policing. As an accomplished negotiator with hundreds of successful deployments, a course instructor and director on national negotiator courses, I am highly qualified and experienced in my chosen field, having an expert negotiation knowledge of:

Since 2019, I have been a keynote speaker on business management and expert negotiation courses at various Universities, including Oxford, UCL, Peking, Madison Wisconsin and Chapel Hill North Carolina, where he provides training and insights on negotiation methods, Active Listening Skills, enhanced / advanced communication methods, perception and the art of influence. There are few individuals with comparable levels of knowledge, skill and more importantly operational and training experience in these specialist fields.

I now deliver training and guidance internationally, and am one of the four Negotiators selected to create and deliver ‘The Negotiator Programme’ on behalf of the United Nations.
