Ally Mitchell posted an update
I thought I would share a strange thing that happened on LinkedIn. On Thursday afternoon, I posted a photo of two random people that had decided to lie down on the wet verge, next to the war memorial opposite our house and have a nap. It was never intentionally posted to draw a lot of attention, just innocent observations of a random Thursday afternoon. So this is what happened……over 30,000 impressions and they are still rising. Outreach globally, nearly 50 comments and 30 likes., plus several new followers and connection requests.
The LinkedIn algorithm never ceases to amaze me! Has anyone else had a similar experience, if only the same was said for my other posts …..

how amazing…How does that work!?

@ivan no one really knows how LinkedIn works out their algorithms. A lot of the experts say certain keywords can trigger them to put your post in multiple feeds. It seems there more impressions gained, the momentum gathers further. For instance, this morning I gained 400o more impressions through no action by me. It is all a mystery.

Really impressive stats! I must admit I once posted on LI about my Mum – and that got a similar response – nothing to do with work/business at all!!!

@lisawoolnough totally bonkers isn’t it, it is still gaining interest, over 52,000 impressions now!

Odd that the ‘business’ social media platform seems to encourage non business – y posts with its algorithm? Seems like many people have had the same experience. They must be going for the real, authentic, unpolished insights vibe ?
