Happy Thursday Bizhubbers!
💡 Networking Tip of the week: Be Interesting and Interested 👀💬
Everyone wants to be remembered—but the secret sauce?
Be the person who remembers others.
Instead of trying to impress, try this:
Ask one good question. Listen like it matters (because it does). Follow up with something thoughtful.
Boom—you just became 10x more memorable than the person who handed out 47 business cards and vanished.
🧠 Why it works:
People love talking about themselves (don’t we all?). If you show genuine curiosity, you’ll stand out—not as a schmoozer, but as someone people actually want to talk to again.
Try it in your next 1:1 or group convo. Ask:
– “What’s lighting you up in your work right now?”
– “What’s something you’re working on that you’re really proud of?”
– “What do you wish more people asked you about?”
✨ Be curious. Be kind. And you’ll build a network that wants to support you. Because we can’t build our business without a good network!
👉 Next Step:
Message that person on the platform you’ve been meaning to reach out to. You know the one. Maybe you saw their intro, liked their post, or thought “we should connect”—now’s the moment.
Send them a message. Ask something about them. Start the conversation.
Because great networks aren’t built on good intentions—they’re built on follow-through.

Great advice – anything has to be better than the old favourite “so what do you do?”

@lisawoolnough Oh god yeah!! Sometimes I like to flip it and ask “so why do you do what you do?”

Love this approach Hannah, ask more than answer.

I’m interested in the person behind the business, so it is always good when you can have a wide ranging chat and find ouyt about them and their life. Helps give you more contxt than just their business and what that does…
