I cant help from a work perspective, but with my HR head on…. this doesn’t sound right, he should be paid contractual notice at the very least. And they can only make redundant after following meaningful consultation…. Could be worth a quick call to ACAS.

@Sapient-HR Hey Zoe, so there is a payment in lieu of 4 weeks notice, appreciate that might not have been clear initially! She called ACAS this afternoon, employer have timed it just before the 2 years where she’d have more rights to consultation etc, so no foul play from a legal standing. Still, a rough way to find out on the day and now in find a fix mode for suddenly being without a job. But it is life, will figure it out 🙂

have you contacted @stuart_elsdon at BluCanDo? They are IT experts so may have tech type companies on their books, and some may be in the comms industry? Just a thought. If not, contact other IT specialists they may have some useful contacts?
