🌟 The Profile Glow-Up Challenge Is ON! 💁♀️💼
Your profile is your first impression on this platform—so let’s make sure it’s giving “connected, credible, and ready to collaborate”… not “mystery avatar with no context.” 👻
This week, I’m challenging you to give your profile a proper glow-up.

Live Events & Networking Support 10 months agoToday I went to visit this local lake in Vilnius, Lithuania for my lunch break. The ducks in the picture were also hungry, so tomorrow I will go back and take some seeds to feed them with.
This lake made me think about my approach to networking, which I often refer to with fishing metaphors (although I’ve never gone fishing).
While it might…

@Darryl odd you should post this, I have been painting some elements for a new art insallation I am doing and before I started painting I “set my intention” with the piece. The mood or energy I wish to inbue into the work, and that gives me a way to feel like I am somehow connected with it and am merely a conduit for the energy. Sounds weird,…

Hi Darryl, I really enjoyed reading your post—what a beautiful way to spend a lunch break! That lake looks so peaceful, and I love that you’re going back with seeds for the ducks—such a kind gesture.
Your fishing metaphor for networking really resonated with me. It’s so true that casting a wide net in a massive sea can feel aimless and…

💡 Networking Tip of the week: Be Interesting and Interested 👀💬
Everyone wants to be remembered—but the secret sauce?
Be the person who remembers others.
Instead of trying to impress, try this:
Ask one good question. Listen like it matters (because it does). Follow up with something thoughtful.
Boom—you just became 10x…

Great advice – anything has to be better than the old favourite “so what do you do?”

🚀 The Elevator Pitch Game Is On! 🎤
Last week, some of you shared a need that required help. So this week, i’m going to flip it!
I invite you to share what you bring to the table—because chances are, someone here needs exactly what you know, do, or offer.

I’m just about to print a batch of flyers for my business (StudioOne9@UK) and would love to support someone within the BiZHUB community if anyone here owns or runs a printing company. I usually go through online platforms but would much prefer to keep it local and collaborative. Let me… Read more5 -

Such good advice Hannah, and I’ll add – be persistent, if someone doesn’t respond it’s probably just because they are super busy so keep trying !

🎉 Throwback Time: Your First Job Ever! 💼✨
Good morning Bizhubbers!, What a fabulous sunny Thursday.
Let’s have a little trip down memory lane, shall we?
I want to know: What was one of your first jobs (the most memorable), and what did it actually teach you? Did it shape your future career or make you determined to never have to work again?
Maybe…

So, my first ‘job’ was a paper round, aged 11. Does that qualify for child labour?…. I’m not sure. But what happened in the 80s stays in the 80s. The guy who ran the shop was a really mean old guy who smelt of cigarettes and rage. I remember him never having the rounds ready on time, which always panicked me as I had to get them delivered and… Read more

Working in hospitality definitely teaches you a lot about the general public haha! But it’s a great starting point for youngsters and teaches lots of transferable skills. Hospitality jobs often involve thinking on your feet, using your initiative, and problem solving. As well as maintaining a ‘customer service’ face 🙂

Let’s talk about your networking profile. Right now. Yes, yours.
Think of your profile like your digital handshake—it’s the first thing people notice when they click your name. If it’s empty or half-baked, you’re basically saying:
🧍♂️ “Hi, I’m mysterious.”
🤷♀️ “Guess who I am!”
🫣 “Please don’t engage with me.”We want…

Great advice Hannah and remider. It’s important to keep it all upto date rather than making it a 1 time tick box exercise. Businesses move and evolve quickly – particularly in startup phase so always chackin that your profile is still relevant to you and your business right now.

Live Events & Networking Support a year agoToday’s Bordon BiZHUB icebreaker was to find out something surprising and delightful about the other members in the room, and everyone wrote down something and we picked them randomly and those present had to guess who the author of the note was and possibly what their business did.
We didn’t get through all the submissions, so below is…

So my guesses are as follows
1. Karen Skidmore – @karenskidmore
2. Oli Lacey-Reed – @digirotor
