💚 Wellbeing Wednesday 💚
Last week’s conversations were brilliant, from nature walks and gardening to breathing exercises and even ice baths 😅 It was genuinely lovely seeing everyone sharing the different ways they reset and recharge.
One thing it really highlighted is how important it is to pause sometimes, especially when life and work get busy.
This week, I’ve been reminded of that even more watching the little bumble bee nest outside our office window 🐝🌿
For me, nature is always my reset. Watching the bees reminds me there’s a much bigger world out there beyond emails, deadlines, meetings, and the busy thoughts in our heads. It’s so easy to get caught up in our own little world and feel overwhelmed, but taking a moment to pause and reconnect with nature really helps put things back into perspective for me.
Sometimes all we need is a few quiet minutes to breathe, reset, and remember the world is bigger than the stress we’re carrying 🐝🌿
So this week’s question is:
👉 What helps you reset and put things back into perspective when life feels busy or overwhelming?
Whether it’s fresh air, exercise, music, family time, a walk, or something completely different — we’d love to hear it 💚

This week for me it was a great band rehearsal – getting together with a bunch of like-minded people and banging out our Motown favourites. You can’t think about anything else when you’re playing great music!

@christinareal-word-com I absolutely love this! 🎶💚
There’s something so special about music for switching off from the outside world and being completely in the moment. And Motown favourites too… you can’t beat a bit of Motown for lifting the mood 😄
I think you’re right, when you’re surrounded by like-minded people doing something you genuinely enjoy, everything else just fades into the background for a while.3 -
@christinareal-word-com I love this too! We always have live music from members at our summer party so if you are interested in playing a set let us know !!

@signal-emma Sounds like fun, Emma. Please keep us in mind 🙂

Same @clairesignalbizhub-com – Nature is my go to! Getting out for a walk (especially along the canal in Tiverton) allows me to be present and give out an internal exhale…maybe not today though – looks like it’s going to tip it down! 😆 So maybe pausing to enjoying a cheeky hot chocolate with all the trimmings instead.

@JoRoweOffice Ahhh yes — there’s something about a canal walk that instantly slows everything down a little 💚 And I know exactly what you mean about that “internal exhale” feeling.
You’re so lucky living near the canal in beautiful Devon too! The perfect place to switch off and reset for a while.
Although judging by today’s weather, I think the hot chocolate option sounds like the better wellbeing choice 😆☔🍫

@JoRoweOffice The canal in Tiverton is so lovely. I think we already connected over kingfisher sightings there! It’s a shame you cant walk further along the river from the centre of town tho, or can you? Ive not found a good path yet

@signal-emma haha yes its magical there! From town I normally go past Tesco and up canal hill way, that’s the start of the canal there – nice little Tea room and garden there.
I recommend taking a drive out to the jubilee bridge bit (free parking) and chilling with a chai latte from a lovely couple and their business ‘The Box Circa 75’ https://maps.app.goo.gl/vS2ihf6qTbbRKTBk7

For me it’s no surprise it’s painting! If you’ve not tried it I highly recommend it, that moment when you are completely focused on the task at and and everything else melts away. Given my business you’d think I get loads of painting in but that’s not the case, running my business takes so much effort that I need to ensure I remember to put aside some time for me.

@richardballard There’s something really special about finding an activity that completely absorbs you and lets everything else fade into the background for a while. Painting must be such a mindful escape too, being fully present in the moment and focused purely on creating.
And I think what you said at the end is something so many business owners can relate to… we can become so consumed with running the business that we forget to make time for the things that recharge us personally. Such an important reminder 😊 -
@richardballard hopefullly you found some tine over the bank holiday weekend to indulge?

Definitely nature, my daily walk and my garden for me. Just planted my annual vegetable crop so will be busy tending to them over the coming months. The butterflies and bees are starting to arrive. I heard something on a podcast the other day that stopped me in my tracks. We are part of nature and nature is doing its thing, we try so hard to control every aspect of our life but nature is doing its thing….

@refeiaz ‘nature never hurries but everything is accomplished’ is one of my favourite observations

@signal-emma Love that, definitely not rushing this week, too hot 😅

Definitely a walk in the fresh air with the dog to recharge. We’ve been heading out and find some new places recently and stumbled across these fields and hills in Alton last week which were teaming with wildlife.

@robfryer-brandstorm what a great picture! A dog is such a great incentive to get outdoors

I feel like I mentioned ice baths last week but they are so good for re setting the brain and I have to say they are a godsend in a heatwave! Takes no willpower at all in 30 degrees
