• 💚 Wellbeing Wednesday 💚 Eat that Frog!

      Morning all,

Does anyone else do this, or is it just me? 😅.

For some reason, I often start my day by working through all the quick wins and little tasks on my to-do list before tackling the bigger, more challenging piece of work.

In my head, it feels productive. I’m ticking things off, making progress, and getting things done.

But the reality is that the big task is still sitting there in the background all day. The longer I leave it, the more pressure I put on myself, and by the time I finally get to it, I’m already feeling overwhelmed.

On the days when I do the opposite and start with the big task first, something completely different happens.

I get it done, feel energised, and then fly through the smaller tasks with a much clearer head. It’s as though a weight has been lifted and suddenly everything else feels easier.

I suppose it’s a classic case of “eat the frog” 🐸

The funny thing is, I know this works for me… so why don’t I do it all the time? 😅

👉 Are you a “get the big thing done first” person, or do you start with the quick wins?

👉 And have you noticed how your approach affects your stress levels and wellbeing?

I’d love to hear if anyone else does the same! 💚

      • Morning Claire. I’m usually an ‘eat the frog’ person, but I do lapse from time to time 🙂

      • Morning Christina,

I think that’s the key isn’t it — even when we know what works for us, we all lapse from time to time!

I’m slowly learning that the more I avoid the frog, the bigger and scarier it seems to become throughout the day 🐸😅

        • Yes I signed up to the Eat the Frog concept a few years back and liked the book by Brian Tracy. Like you I do lapse but I always have one priority task on my daily todo list
