💚 Introducing Wellbeing Wednesday 💚
Following on from Simon Lloyd’s great post yesterday — “How’s Your Work / Life Balance?” — it reminded me how important these conversations really are.
Here at My BiZHUB, we want this community to be more than just business conversations.
Behind every business owner, entrepreneur, leader, and professional is a real person balancing challenges, goals, pressures, wins, family life, and everything in between.
So, welcome to Wellbeing Wednesday — a weekly space to pause, connect, support one another, and share the things that help us stay positive, motivated, and balanced.
This week’s question is:
👉 What’s ONE thing you do that helps you reset or recharge?
Maybe it’s:
☕ a quiet coffee
🚶 a walk outside
🎧 music
🏋️ exercise
📖 reading
😂 laughter with friends
🌿 simply taking 10 minutes for yourselfFor me, it’s nature. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, spending even just 10 minutes outside, slowing down and really taking in the peace and serenity around me, helps reset my busy mind. It brings me clarity, calm, and a chance to breathe and refocus.

I love a walk or a tidy up of the garden, as I also love the outdoors but if I need an urgent mindset boost or energy boost I do a 15 minute breathing exercise followed by an icebath! When I say ice bath, its nothing fancy just my own bath filled with cold water, epsom salts and a few ice packs from the freezer. 5 minutes. Works a treat!

@signal-emma Emma, I think you’re definitely braver than me with the ice baths! 😂 Fair play to you though, I can imagine that gives you an instant reset and energy boost. I think I’ll stick to nature and peaceful walks for now, but I love hearing everyone’s different ways of recharging 💚

@clairesignalbizhub-com Yes I’m very into the whole Wim Hof thing (like @damonbowenashwin ) but I’m looking forward to hearing other peoples ideas and suggestions too.

Mental health and taking time for ourselves go hand in hand. For some reason, so many of us feel the pressure to just keep going and often see rest as a luxury rather than something we genuinely need. But rest really is essential — taking time to pause, reset, and recharge can make such a difference to our mindset, energy, and overall wellbeing. It’s definitely something we all need to be more mindful of.

I am my own worst enemy – I say to myself I don’t have time for a 20 minute walk or change of scene; when deep down, I know it is all I need and the clarity of thought, the efficiency of focus when the mist has evaporated; I am so much more productive and the reward follow.
I do have time, I will come back better, I can do this!

@sl007 Simon, I feel like that last line needs to become your new daily mantra 😂
“I do have time. I will come back better. I can do this!”
But honestly, you’re so right. We’re all guilty of trying to push through when sometimes a quick reset is exactly what we need to clear the fog and come back stronger 💚1

I agree – I completely agree with this
Whenever I get to the point where I’m feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or something just isn’t working the way it should, I’ve learned the best thing I can do is step away from it for a few minutes.
Usually that means heading outside for some fresh air (normally with a vape in hand too 😅) just to remove myself from the situation and reset my head a little. It’s amazing how often clarity comes when you stop forcing the solution.
And if that doesn’t work… I normally end up distracting the rest of the team instead 😂

Gareth, I was reading this thinking “that’s actually really good advice” right up until the last line 😂
But you’re completely right, sometimes stepping away for 5 minutes and resetting your head is exactly what’s needed. Although of course, the team are always thrilled when your alternative coping mechanism is becoming their distraction instead 😅💚 -
Going for a run. Leaving the phone at home. The peace of the trail and hoping that aliens might kidnap me and take me back to my home planet. Comforting thoughts like that.
