Thanks @pauladams useful notes as always< the “Businesses encouraged to sign up to Cyber Resilience Pledge” really annoys me; Cyber security is a very real and present threat, businesses of all sizes. But if you are a small team, maybe a solo-preneur of whatever stripe, how do you actually begin to get your head round all this. Then add in…

All Members 2 months agoWhere is my document?!
Your files, whether documents, spreadsheets or images, represent far more than stored data. They capture your organisation’s intellectual property, reflect how well your business is structured, and directly support day‑to‑day operations and decision‑making. When filing is poorly managed, valuable information is harder to find, protect and…

This weeks Business Oddcast is a story, which begins, where all the best business stories begin… at a business networking event…
I recently met a new and enthuisastic business owner, with an interesting backstory and a passion to launch a new venture. As per any good networker they followed up with an email, asking me about business…

There’s so much advice out there about starting and growing a business, but far less about the realities of partnerships, expectations, and the human side of building something with other people.

All Members 2 months agoA quick gift for anyone wrestling with marketing right now 🎯
Most founders I speak to know their marketing could be sharper, but can’t quite put their finger on where the weak link is. Strategy? Audience? Message? Measurement? It all blurs together when you’re in the weeds.
So I’ve built something to help.
The Marketing Maturity Scorecard takes about 5 minutes and scores you across the seven stages of…

So many businesses know something in their marketing isn’t quite landing, but identifying exactly where the gap is can be the hardest part. Having a simple, structured way to assess that is incredibly valuable.
Love that it focuses on progress and optimisation rather than just “doing more marketing.” Definitely worth 5 minutes for business… Read more1- View 1 reply

Your Filing System – Boring but Necessary
I love filing, some people call me the Digital Declutterer|! My business uses reliable and efficient systems for daily operations is a statement which is important to the fundamentals of working with systems. You may have different filing systems, but fundamentally they work in similar ways if they are…

This is such an important topic 👏
Good systems and clear document storage often get overlooked, but they make such a huge difference to productivity, collaboration, and reducing day-to-day frustration. It’s amazing how much time and stress can be saved when people can actually find what they need quickly and confidently!
Sounds like a really… Read more -

All Members 2 months agoHow's Your Work / Life Balance?
What helps you keep your work/life balance in check?
What do you do to ground yourself after a brilliant day… or a completely shit one? How do you celebrate the wins or vent the frustrations?
For me, it’s Elvis — my 10-year-old greyhound. He’s the most loving distraction you could ask for and, honestly, a very, very spoilt boy.

I have been forced, through health reasons, to make sure that I have a better work/life thing going on. But I still get caught out sometimes.
