All Members 3 weeks agoContent is where marketing wins or loses
You can get your audience, message and channels right. If the copy on the website doesn’t work at the point of decision, the rest is wasted.
Most founders pay for a CMS and a designer, then write the copy themselves. That’s often why the site doesn’t convert as it should.
Here’s seven things worth testing your homepage against.

Cheers Lisa. I see copywriting is central to what you do. Which of these seven do you think most people trip up on? My money’s on 4 😊

The arvo.
Vicky O’Farrell got us alert and focused.
Her main point was – we don’t need to react to the information at the same speed it is received.
It’s so easy to pick up the phone after it pings and re-act straight away, even the act of looking at the notification is an immediate reaction . Vicky reminded us to slow down and take moments to…

All Members 3 weeks agoSo, TedX Crawley - what did I glean?!
First of all I actually didn’t know TED stood for Technology, Entertainment and Design! Makes sense!
There were 14 speakers in total – I will mention the ones that really stood out for me so I’m boring you all with a huge essay! but they were all fantastic.
We’ll start with the morning.
It all kicked off with Marketer and Author – Dee…

All Members 3 weeks agoWhat are you most proud of?
What’s the achievement in your business that you’re most proud of?
Not your biggest turnover.
Not your best month.
Not your biggest client. The moment that made you stop and think, “I’ve actually done it.”
Maybe it was your first sale, your first employee, surviving a difficult year, helping a customer, or simply keeping the doors open when it…

Mine was probably the realisation that I could (and did) keep everything going and make a life for my son and me after my divorce. Being the sole provider actually made me try even harder to make my business work. I surprised myself with several months of a turnover that I previously hadn’t dreamt of. Obviously that kind of thing doesn’t last,…

It went to my first ever employee.
She’ll know who she is.
I arranged the interview after a conversation with her dad. She arrived with her mum because she was so nervous. The funny thing is, I think I was even more nervous.
I’d never managed anyone before. I wasn’t sure how to share my workspace or whether I could trust someone else to… Read more3- View 2 replies

Hello, I’m new/ not new here!
I’ve been in and out of bizhub since nearly the start I think!
Anyway, I’m a reflexologist and I’ve been in a love hate relationship with my email/ website for the past couple of years.
I have various things in different places and i want to try and streamline it, but i also need to not cost the earth in…

Welcome Holly! Sounds like you have started to think about focused growth, and that’s great but you are 100% correct streamlining and systems are what you need to then scale. Even if it is just a little bit of growth, a system/processes will reduce your overall workload and panic-state!
I’m a business growth ambassador for SiGNAL and you can…

Hi everyone.
A good friend of mine who runs a local painting and decorating business is taking part in a huge cycle challenge in aid of the charity Andy’s Man Club – a mens mental health charity.
He is cycling over 1700 miles over this year (he’s cycling to all British Touring Car Circuits during the season.)
He is asking local businesses to…
