What do I actually do?
At the BiZHUB Accelerator this morning we all discussed what we do and what gives us joy and brings fun into our roles, and our businesses. A few people asked me what I did, and that’s a very hard question to answer. And one that I posed in my one man show that I performed at the Phoenix Theatre in Bordon at the weekend. At the end of the show…

Sadly couldn’t make it to your show but knowing you were doing it and having known and worked with you, I Had my own quick think to come up with a title or a tag line for brand Stuart. How about “Ambassador of Awesome People, Awesome Businesses and Awesome Suits”
or simply “Ambassador of Awesome”

I’ve been on the hunt for a transcription service. Every mindful of data security and how AI seems to be everywhere, and asking for another subscription, I had several requirements.
- Not cost a huge amount for the service.
- Accuracy vs cost – don’t waana be cheap and then spend hours editing (or waiting).
- Data security – how will the service manage…

BING BONG: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

USEFUL LINKS THREAD!
Please share any useful website, apps, podcasts or other links you think would be appreciated by BiZHUB Members. Could be an indistry report you think should be seen by a wider audience, or a useful tool or other resource that you use and think others might like.
Doesn’t have to be something you made, authoried or published,…

I like using Wise bank for my subscriptions. I don’t know about others, but lots of the software I subscribe to charges in USD. By having a Wise business account, I can have USD stored in there, so I’m not paying bank fees or poor exchange rates every time I pay (usually a small) monthly subscription invoice.

ooh, I like this idea! Well, firstly for all the neurodiverse members of our community, I’d be crazy not to share our ‘Business Oddcast’. A hugely valuable and very funny (even if I do say so myself) podcast that covers so many relevant topics that will help not only our ND members, but everyone else too. Please check it out and give it…

Happy Friday everyone, it may be raining and stormy but lets not set our mood by the weather! I think all days are equally fab, we all love the “Friday Feeling”, but I’m also an “up and at ’em Monday” person too!
But, whatever the day, I do like a good aphorism, affirmation or motivational quote and today’s comes from Big Moose a charity…

Looks a great resource. Thank you for sharing

I’m finalising a guide to stepping off the PAYE work treadmill and becoming self-employed.
Anyone got any small or useful hints, tips, surprising things (good and bad) or other insights into Self-Employment? What surprised you? What frsutrated you? Doesn’t have to be long, can be one word e.g. “TAX!” but, what one thing would you tell…

A few from me as someone who has been through the process in the last year:
– It’s not what you know but who you know so build up your networks.
– Start as a side hustle, it may be that that’s what it remains.
– Trust the process (easier said than done) 😀

I would say it’s all about discipline. Once you no longer have an employer, it’s easy to drift along and spend a surprising amount of time doing ‘important stuff’ that actually gets you nowhere. Getting a new routine will look different for everyone but for me, it’s simple things like having a dedicated work space, ‘getting dressed’ (i.e.…

Google has launched https://nanobanana.ai – anyone used it, I heard it was free but taking a look cannot seem to find a “free” plan or page. Anyone got any tips?
-
Hi Stu – if you just click on the launch now button in the bar at the top of the page it lets you create an image for free (I’m not sure how many it will let you do for free before you have to start paying). I created the attached image using it from a really simple prompt just to see if it worked.

Same exact prompt used “Show me a “trash panda” rendered as a womble” – the sketch styled image is ChatGPT the more photo real images was Nano Banana. Interesting!

For the videography you could try Luke Magnay on 01376 743347 – he’s not that local (he’s based in Essex) but he’s bloody excellent at what he does. Tell him I sent you and hopefully he will give you mate’s rates.

Wot up BiZHUB! It’s a new week, a fresh page, and a chance to glide/boogie/shuffle our way to a better business! It’s the truth, small steps forward are all it takes. This week all eyes are on sales – I’m setting up Dripify campaign on Linked IN this week with the help of @jchudleigh , very much appreciated, and then setting up as many calls as possible to grow our Accelerator membership now the re shuffle of our offering is fully decided.

Loving the energy – definitely feeling the fresh-page vibes this week! Marginal gains is such a powerful mindset.
This week, my small-but-mighty tweak is tightening up some of our customer email templates – making them clearer, friendlier, and more consistent across the board. It’s one of those things that’s easy to overlook but makes a big… Read more2 - View more comments
