How's Your Work / Life Balance?
What helps you keep your work/life balance in check?
What do you do to ground yourself after a brilliant day… or a completely shit one? How do you celebrate the wins or vent the frustrations?
For me, it’s Elvis — my 10-year-old greyhound. He’s the most loving distraction you could ask for and, honestly, a very, very spoilt boy.
And then…

I have been forced, through health reasons, to make sure that I have a better work/life thing going on. But I still get caught out sometimes. But @stu taught me really important stuff like ‘buffer days’ to recover after busy days, and that rest is not a reward. But preperation for the work to come. When you think of rest as integral, rather than…

My Frenchie, Coco, helps keep me in the real world. I love our lunchtime walks (even, grudgingly, when the weather is awful)!

Remove the Isolation - Let's support each other!
I have worked alone for most of the last 30 years. I miss the Friday feeling, the crescendo of celebrating wins with others, sharing frustrations over a pint with a good listener.
Join me on the first Thursday of every month – 5pm at The Corner House, Tiverton.
RSVP here – https://events.humanitix.com/tiverton-social

A little story about why I do what I do...
If you run a business on your own, or spend most of your time working from home, you’ll probably recognise this:
You tell yourself you’re doing fine.
You keep going.
You don’t really talk about it.But underneath it all, it can feel quite isolating.
I know that feeling better than I’d like to admit.

Linked In POD – its here again!
Happy Tuesday!
Please share your LinkedIn post links here between 11:00 am and 11:30 am. Then, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, take some time to like, comment, and share each other’s posts.
The value of the Pod comes from mutual support—so if you’re not able to engage with others that week, please hold off on posting your own link.

A Public Display of Affection!
Huge thank you to @hannah for the time and thought she put into reviewing Tiverton WorkHub and the work we’re doing with SiGNAL here.
What started as an hour on the phone turned into a really generous deep-dive into the business, the positioning and the opportunities ahead. She clearly spent a lot of time thinking through the challenges we’re…

Networking Etiquette
Do you still use business cards? – I am undecided.
I want people to walk away with something of me… not just wonderful first impression!
I have toyed with QR and NFC but they are not a tangible reminder sat in your pocket.
I would love to hear from you all… please comment

Working Solo
There’s something brilliant about working by yourself.
For me, it’s the best circumstance personally.
- No office politics
- No one microwaving fish at 12:03pm
- No “quick chats” that last 47 minutes
What do you love about it?

Silence.
My own music.
Breaks when I want.
Start when I want.
End when I want. (Although, I never wanna stop!)Love working on my own!

We know all about the quick chats that aren’t so quick in the SiGNAL office! But they are what makes the world go around in many ways ! No one can build a business alone after all. However the days I am working alone I do really enjoy going deep in to what I am doing, I actually work best when alone yet surrounded by people ie trains and cafes
